By accessing our website at https://www.africanconservation.org, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this website. Opinions expressed in articles are those of the author and/or the author’s organization, and not necessarily those of the African Conservation Foundation.

2. Copyright

Unless otherwise stated, all content featured on this website is copyright ACF or third parties. Please contact info@africanconservation.org if you are interested in using any of the content and we will be able to advise you accordingly.

Photographs and images on this website are either exclusive contributions from the photographers or appear with the permission of the copyright holders. They may not be duplicated, reproduced, televised or stored for later retrieval in print or electronic format, in whole or in part, without the written permission of the copyright holders. The African Conservation Foundation cannot be held responsible for any copyright violations. If you would like to use or report any of the images, please contact us for more information.

3. Use License

a. Permission is granted to temporarily download one copy of the materials (information or software) on the African Conservation Foundation’s website for personal, non-commercial transitory viewing only. This is the grant of a license, not a transfer of title, and under this license you may not:

i. modify or copy the materials;

ii. use the materials for any commercial purpose, or for any public display (commercial or non-commercial);

iii. attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software contained on the African Conservation Foundation’s website;

  • Upload, post, email, transmit or otherwise make available any unsolicited or unauthorized advertising, promotional materials, “junk mail,” “spam or any other form of solicitation.

You hereby agree that ACF may, at ACF’s sole discretion, remove or delete any entries, information, materials or other content that violates these Terms of Use or that is otherwise objectionable.

a. The materials on the African Conservation Foundation’s website are provided on an ‘as is’ basis. the African Conservation Foundation makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and hereby disclaims and negates all other warranties including, without limitation, implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property or other violation of rights.

b. The organisations and projects featured on this website have been submitted by the community and their listing does not constitute or imply endorsement, recommendation or favouring by the African Conservation Foundation. The views and opinions expressed by conservation groups do not necessarily reflect those of ACF.

c. In the News section we collect and showcase news stories relevant to conservation in Africa, with the goal to support conservation initiatives, staff, researchers, students and the general public by improving the availability of information through an accessible news repository and archive. ACF is not responsible for the content of news items and articles. Copyright remains with the publishers i.e. the media and environmental organisations. All news is labelled with the name and/or – where possible – the URL of the originating source.

d. Further, the African Conservation Foundation does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.

6. Limitations

In no event shall the African Conservation Foundation or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on the African Conservation Foundation’s website, even if the African Conservation Foundation or a the African Conservation Foundation authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. However, the African Conservation Foundation does not make any commitment to update the materials.
