FIVE SADC countries involved in the transboundary conservation project known as the Kavango Zambezi Transfrontier Conservation Area (KaZa-TFCA) say all the project’s institutional structures are in place.

The environment ministers of the five countries met in Livingstone, Zambia, on Thursday.

In a joint communiqué, they said the recruitment and appointment of the KaZa-TFCA Secretariat had been done and individual countries were consulting internally on the project’s draft treaty.

The five countries involved in the project are Namibia, Botswana, Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The next meeting of ministers will be held in December this year in Zimbabwe.
