The Kruger National Park (KNP) has decided to no longer reveal information on its rhinos’ movements in a bid to curb poaching, according to a report.

Spokeswoman Laura Mukwevho told Beeld newspaper that all camp managers had been ordered to remove information on maps and notice boards about the rhinos’ movements.

In the past the park had kept visitors up to date on where rhinos had last been spotted. But Mukwevho said another six rhino carcasses were found last week in the southern part of the park.

A total of 229 rhinos had been poached in the park this year.

SA National Parks on Tuesday said a total of 405 rhinos had been poached this year, an increase of 21.6 percent from last year.
