Arend de Haas is a Conservation Ecologist coordinating and conducting conservation, ecological restoration and sustainable community projects. He has a strong interest in building local capacity, through training and education. His work takes him all over Africa, and currently also Europe. Research and field experience include developing conservation strategies, community based conservation, great apes, forest elephants, protected area management, multitrophic interactions, large mammal surveys and radio-telemetry. He is teaching and using P3DM, GIS and remote sensing for natural resource management, forest biodiversity and vegetation mapping.
