Day-to-Day

Day 1: Arrival and Entebbe

Upon arrival, your tour guide will meet you and transfer you to one of the nearby hotels: Lake Height Hotel, Lake Victoria, Palm Beach Hotel, or 2 Friends Hotel, all conveniently located near Entebbe International Airport. Enjoy an overnight stay for relaxation.

Day 2: Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, we’ll embark on a scenic drive through Uganda’s rolling green hills to Lake Mburo National Park (3-4 hours). This park offers excellent bird viewing, a haven for birders to spot African fin foot and papyrus bush shrike. It’s an extension of the Tanzanian plains with abundant zebras, impalas, elands, and other wildlife. We’ll have lunch, relax, and take an afternoon boat trip to see crocodiles, hippos, colorful kingfishers, fish eagles, shoebills, and more. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Rwakobo Rock Lodge, Mantana Lake Mburo Tented Camp, or Eagles Nest Camp.

Day 3: Zebra Experience and Transfer to Bwindi

Enjoy a morning game drive to see zebras, impalas, elands, and more. After lunch, we’ll drive through the beautiful Kigezi highlands and terraced hills of the Bakiga and Bafumbira people towards Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, the home of gorillas. Check in for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Gorilla Mist Camp.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

After an early breakfast and briefing, we’ll set off for a thrilling Mountain gorilla tracking experience within the forest sanctuary. This activity starts at 8:00 am, and you’ll have a chance to spend about an hour with these incredible primates. Afterward, return to the lodge and then transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-Resort.

Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi

In the morning, hike along the Bushara trail bordering the lake shore. Enjoy a canoe ride with locals, listen to bird songs, and return for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi Eco-Resort.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Transfer from Lake Bunyonyi to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoying stunning landscapes and wildlife along the way. Afternoon, take a thrilling 2-hour launch trip along the Kazinga Channel to see hippos, buffalos, elephants, and over 60 bird species. Return to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Jacana Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge, or Ihamba Safari Lodge.

Day 7: Game Drive – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Start the day with a morning game drive to spot early risers and a variety of wildlife. Return for lunch and then transfer to Fort Portal, with stops at the equator and scenic spots along the way. Plant trees in the Rwenzori community and arrive in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay at Mountains of the Moon Hotel, Fort Motel, Primate Lodge, Ndali Lodge, or Kibale Forest Camp.

Day 8: Chimpanzee Tracking – Kibale National Park

Wake up early for morning chimpanzee tracking at Kanyanchu, with opportunities to see other wildlife and bird species. After lunch, explore the cultural site of Bigodi with a guided nature walk. Return to the hotel for cultural entertainment, dinner, and an overnight stay.

Day 9: Semuliki National Park

After breakfast, visit Semuliki National Park for a hot spring experience and nature walk, observing abundant wildlife and scenery. Explore the Amabere Ga Nyina Mwiru site for caves, hill climbing, crater lakes, and tree planting. Check in for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Mountains of the Moon Hotel, Kyaninga Lodge, Fort Motel, or Rwenzori Travelers Inn.

Day 10: Murchison Falls National Park

Tour Fort Portal tourism city, then transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, passing through scenic valleys and escarpments, with wildlife sightings and periodic stops. Arrive in the evening for relaxation, dinner, and an overnight stay at Sambiya River Lodge, Red Chilli Rest Camp, Paraa Lodge, KaniyoPabidi, or Masindi Hotel.

Day 11: Wildlife Tour and Departure

Start the day with an early game drive to see early risers like jackals, giraffes, and more. Return for breakfast and lunch, then embark on a launch cruise along the Victoria Nile to see buffalos, hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous aquatic birds. Return in the evening, have dinner, and then drive to Kampala and Entebbe International Airport, stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a White Rhino Experience and lunch. Arrive at the airport in the evening for your departure.

What to bring?

  • Wear stout shoes or walking boots suitable for steep muddy slopes.
  • Gardening gloves are excellent in the forest when pulling on vines and nettles and during tree planting activity.
  • Carry rain gear, sunscreen lotion, a hat (as the weather is unpredictable) and insect repellent.
  • Porters are available to hire when the need arises.
